Can I bring my car to you directly or do I have to use my insurance company’s preferred supplier?
Yes you have the option to deal with us directly, even if your insurer refers you somewhere else. We deal with all New Zealand insurers.
Do you have loan cars while my car is being worked on?
Yes we do have loan cars, subject to availability and other terms and conditions – please contact us.
Do you do windscreen repairs and replacements?
Yes we can offer all glass replacement and repair services, including ensuring cameras are recalibrated.
Do you provide a warranty for the work done on my car?
We provide a warranty on all work completed at Gary A Smith, for the life of the vehicle.
Are there any makes or models of cars you don’t repair?
No – although we are the authorised repairer for Jaguar Land Rover, Tesla, Mercedes, Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Volvo, Toyota and Lexus, we also repair all makes and models of vehicle.
What specialist facilities do you have for collision repair?
Please refer to our services and facilities pages for more details on the facilities we have, which include Aluminium bays, and spray booth facilities.
What will my vehicle be like when you have finished with it, will people be able to tell it’s been damaged?
Your vehicle will be repaired to factory specifications with the latest electronic measuring, repair equipment and painting.
Do I pay my insurance excess to you?
Yes on your booking day unless prior arrangement has been made with your insurance company / or us.
Who do I inform first of my accident
Inform your insurance company of your accident and let them know you want us to repair your car.
Do I need to talk to my insurance about costs of repairs
No we do all of this for you, all you do is make your claim and confirm if you have an excess or not.
Do you offer free pickup and delivery?
Yes only in the Christchurch area, please call us to arrange a time.
What form of payments do you except?
Eftpos, Credit Card, Cash & Direct Credit.
Do I make my claim with you?
No you need to contact your insurance company to make a claim, however we can help you send it off if you are not able to do so.
